As a club we are saddened to learn of the death of Douglas Tasker on the 28th December following a short but typically brave battle with cancer.  Wife Marjorie, son Grahame and daughter Claire were by his side when he peacefully passed.

Douglas came to West in 1975/6 when the family moved to Bearsden while he was working as an accountant for Black and White Scotch Whisky. Having played his rugby previously at Dundee High School FPs he threw himself into the West culture, playing mainly for the 2nd XV and the 2As at prop, flanker and even winger! Once finished playing he refereed senior games, coached the juniors and in the mid 80s he became club treasurer. The family have many many fond memories of trheir time at the club and the lifelong friendships formed whilst at West of Scotland.

For those members who wish to pay their respects, a thanksgiving service will take place on Monday 14th January 2019 at 2pm at Largo Parish Church KY8 6EH and refreshments will take place after at the Old Manor Hotel, Lundin Links KY8 6AJ, all are welcome.

The family have requested that brightly coloured ties are worn (the 'ham & eggs' being particularly welcome).  No flowers please, donations will go towards Cancer research.
