Following the recent sad news of the passing of Colin Gemmill, we can now inform members that his funeral will take place at Clydebank Crematorium on Friday the 7th of February at 2 30pm and thereafter at Kilmardinny House.

Colin was another who seems to have been part of the 'fixtures & fittings' at the club for as long as anyone can remember.  He was 1st XV Touch Judge for many years. I can still see him vividly martialling the 'scoreboard side' touchline in his trademark red & white Gola tracksuit.  When he eventually handed over the touch flag (nobody would ever fill the tracksuit with the same aplomb) he was only too happy to give time to the club to serve on various committees, most notably in the role of Club Secretary.  Until failing health took its toll, he was a regular on the bus to away games.  Always with a good story to tell.  Always armed with his superb sense of humour.

My own favourite memory of him comes from a Ceilidh Night being held in the downstairs hall at Burnbrae.  As the dancing grew steadily more reckless, the band (who from memory were being paid in beer) became more and more out of sync and tune.  Colin leant forward and whispered in my ear...... "Do you know the definition of a West of Scotland gentleman?"  My shake of the head was followed by.... "It's someone who knows how to play the accordion.... but doesn't"

Rest easy 'Snowy'.  You will be greatly missed.
